Random thought of the day:
I was playing around with my Pandora radio on my phone on my Gang Starr channel (yes, one of the best yet) and through the match ups came “Flava in ya ear” by Craig Mack. This got me wondering what happened to the dude. I mean you can wikipedia the answer, but really what happened to the dude? Flava was a jam and still is by my standards, but it got me thinking about other things. That song was hijacked by Jennifer Lopez for a song I choose not to remember the title but I know Ja Rule’s verse starts “It must be the ass…” Anyways, from there I remember the rip of the Beatnuts “Off the Books” for “Jenny on the Block” you know, the one that made Ben Affleck look like a complete tool if he wasn’t one already. Imagine that the whole world of classic hip hop as a huge sample ground for terrible pop songs. Would I want to live in a world where that could happen? What’s next? Is someone going to take the beat from “Full Clip” and change it to a light hearted pop tune? If that happens, would the world be safe? Please hope it doesn’t, that would be a serious dagger to my heart.

Next would be one of my personal favorites are the 8bit Cynics. Check them out in the categories: Alternative Artist OTY and Song OTY
Follow that with OB One, the master on the beats. Makes me jealous, but I’ll live with it since I wasn’t nominated, let alone had enough finished work to represent myself. Vote for OB for Producer OTY.
Finally I’d like to add Puzzle People, a collective crew consisting of the above mentioned artists, some others who weren’t nominated, plus myself. Running for Camp OTY and look us up myspace.com/werpuzzlepeople
